People for Research have been announced as one of the six finalists in the Best Support Services category of the Market Research Society’s Operations Awards 2019, popularly known as Oppies. The winners will be revealed in London, on Thursday 26 September.

The Operations Awards’ goal is to recognise the invaluable contributions that keep the market and user research sector running. “I’m extremely proud for the team at PFR to be recognised in this way, for their brilliant work on this particular project,” said Paul Gooding, People for Research’s CEO. He added: “we have been working with this client for many years and this just goes to show how good partnerships can result in amazing outcomes. Working in such a niche sector and providing such a niche, but vital role in research projects, we aim to deliver results as part of the client’s team to gain excellent insights. We will continue to drive quality and professionalism for all our clients and projects.”

Our work with FRANK and cxpartners

The Market Research Society recognised PFR’s work with Bristol-based agency cxpartners as an essential part of a series of user research rounds for FRANK, a service that aims to give young people the skills and confidence to reject drugs by providing honest information and unbiased advice. During this project, FRANK and cxpartners were looking to explore regional differences in how young people aged 16 to 25 years old feel about drugs and their personal experiences.

People for Research was responsible for all the participant recruitment for this project, targeting and finding young people who had had experiences with drugs in the past, and including participants with accessibility requirements to comply with the Government Digital Services’ guidelines.

“To gain meaningful insights it was vital that the participants were genuine, honest and relaxed to talk about their experiences with drugs. We were also mindful of any negative backlash publicly of recruiting young people to talk about drugs. Duty of care to participants was paramount, so PFR discussed and agreed with the client best approach/recruitment method(s) as well as the research sessions themselves, ahead of the project starting.”

Our client gained indispensable insights from the participants recruited by our team of experts, stating that “PFR felt very much like a part of the team”.

“The website was refreshed in December 2018 without a campaign or money spent, yet traffic has increased by 43%. FRANK received over 180,000 more visitors in December/start of January, prompting Google to describe it as one of the best performing sites they have seen for any of their clients. This is prevention through digital technology at its best.”
